What Is The Difference Between Static Rope & Dynamic Rope?

Dynamic Rope is engineered to absorb impacts of sudden falls with an extra stretch while Static Rope is designed with very little elasticity. Generally, Dynamic Rope is preferred for rock climbing and some safety applications as minimizing the impact of a fall are of vital concern. However, in other applications, a more Static Rope may also be appropriate for rescue applications. Static Rope is also especially useful for work positioning tree climbing applications as staying secure on a line is one of the main concerns in these contexts.
