The heavy-duty jaws on these guy wire cutters are crafted from special heat treated forged high tensile steel; making them specially designed for cutting guy wire. The insulated fiberglass handles on these guy wire cutters are filled with unicellular foam core. Although tested per OSHA specification for hot line tool application, as a safety measure, the user must wear rubber gloves and observe all applicable working clearances when cutting energized wires.
