The eye and eye configuration provides maximum versatility for connecting to various attachment points including shackles, hooks, and other rigging hardware.
UNC Threading Advantage:
UNC (Unified National Coarse) threading is the standard thread type in North America, providing excellent strength and ease of adjustment. The coarser thread pitch makes these turnbuckles easier to adjust by hand and more resistant to cross-threading during installation.
Installation Tips:
When installing turnbuckles, ensure equal thread engagement on both ends for balanced load distribution. Never extend the turnbuckle beyond the point where threads are visible, as this compromises strength. For critical applications or areas subject to vibration, use lock wire or cotter pins to prevent loosening.
Maintenance:
Periodically inspect galvanized turnbuckles for signs of wear or corrosion. Clean and lubricate threads as needed to ensure smooth operation. Re-tighten after initial load application and check tension regularly in dynamic applications.
