These ropes are also stronger and more durable than Natural Ropes. Polyester has a lower stretch than other synthetic ropes and offers additional resistance to sunlight, making it especially ideal for outdoor use. This material has an exceptionally high melting point at 489-500 F and loses strength at 244-250 F.

What Are The Benefits Of Synthetic Rope vs Steel Chains?

In addition to the benefits over natural ropes, polyester winches offer unique features that make them preferable to steel wire and chains. Polyester is resistant to heat and does not store energy, so it is much safer to handle with gloves than any form of steel line that may be used in winching. The polyester winch is also much less likely to develop kinks than steel wire winches are.
